The shareholding structure of BCC provides for the appointment of three NPA Directors as member of BCC Board and two Directors from the Joint venture partners.
The core responsibilities of the company include:
- Plan, Manage, Execute Maintenance and Capital Dredging works along the Bonny Channels.
- Removal of wrecks along the channel
- Maintenance of aids to navigation
- Management training of NPA officials in line with dredging operations.
- Visual pollution monitoring and bathymetric survey of channel

LAGOS CHANNEL MANAGEMENT COMPANY LIMITED
Lagos Channel Management Company manages the Lagos Pilotage District. It was incorporated in August, 2005 by NPA with an equity shareholding of 60% and 40% equity to the Joint Venture partner, DEPASA MARINE INTERNATIONAL.
The Company’s Board of Directors is made up of three Directors from the Nigerian Ports Authority and two Directors from the Depasa Marine International.
The Company’s core operations and responsibilities includes:
- Plan, Manage, Execute Maintenance and Capital Dredging works of the Lagos Channels.
- Removal of wrecks along the channel
- Maintenance of aids to navigation
- Management training of NPA officials in line with dredging operations.

AGURA HOTELS, ABUJA
Agura Hotels Limited is one of NPA’s Joint ventures in the hospitality industry. The circumstances that led to NPA investment in Agura Hotels was through the acquisition of the company’s allotted shares when the later approached the Authority for financial assistance through NPA superannuation fund.
NPA investment in Agura Hotels was further increased through the acquisition of additional shares for the financial years of 1992, 1993, and 1995 respectively.
NPA and Fasel Services Limited, owners of Agura Hotels are currently in deliberation aimed at moving the hotel to new heights.
